Shangrila

Lower Kachura Lake, better known as Shangrila Lake is located in the Kachura Village, Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. The lake has a height of 2,500 meters and became Shangrila Lake, when in 1983, Shangrila Resort was built at the bank of this lake.
Shangrila Resort was the first resort opened in Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan. It was the result of sheer hard work of Brigadier Muhammad Aslam Khan Afridi, who founded this beautiful resort at the bank of astonishing lake. One of the reasons for the fame of this lake is its heart-like shape. Tourists love to watch the shape of this lake and enjoy the scenic moments.
