Fairy Meadows

Fairy Meadows, named by German climbers (German Märchenwiese, fairy story meadows) and also known as Joot with locals, is a field close to one of the base campgrounds of the Nanga Parbat, situated in Diamer District, Gilgit-Baltistan. At a height of around 3,300 meters over the ocean level, it serves as the starting point for trekkers summiting on the Rakhiot face of the Nanga Parbat. In 1995, the Pakistan’s Government announced Fairy Meadows a National Park.
